Friday Confessions from Me to You

-I'm having some serious road rage tendencies lately. I just don't get the people who drive in the left lane of the Interstate while not passing people. I do NOT want to pass you on the right OR tailgate you - so GET OVER! (If you are a left lane driver, I'm sorry but I don't think we can be friends anymore.)

-For the last two nights, I have had a Coke Zero later in the evening and then couldn't get to sleep for anything. Could these two things be related? Hmmm...maybe I will stick to water at 8 p.m. on work nights. (Yes, I'm officially old.)

-I'm absolutely dreading the day my sisters call up and want to use the pool in my neighborhood. Mainly (only) because I have a couple extra rolls in my mid-section that were not there last year. On top of that, the stark whiteness of my skin may scare young children. Oh well, have to bite the bullet and break out the swimsuit at some point, right?

-I'm thinking about trying a Pilates DVD. I was watching E! News (yes, I know it really shouldn't be called news) and saw a segment about the trainer who has been working with Miley Cyrus and she has a DVD (Flat Abs Pilates) - of course. I'm sure I can look like a 19-year-old singer/actress after a few weeks of Pilates at home, right?

-I'm on a bit of an Amazon kick lately. Just ordered this book - Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking - after reading a review on another blog. My friend, Bathtub Mama, often laugh about how we are both content to sit in the same room and not talk to each other when we visit! 

-I'm so, so ready for the weekend. I have a rough 3-4 weeks of work travel, meetings and deadlines looming so I'm looking forward to a couple of quiet days to get geared up.

Rambling Friday Confessions

I went to the grocery store today mainly because I didn't have any whipped topping in the freezer. I bought four tubs of it. I'm hoping those last me for a while. I can (and do) eat the stuff by the spoonful. I get the Fat Free kind so it's OK, right?

I put out a rain gauge last night and immediately called my dad to tell him. Not sure why I was so excited about my new rain gauge but it was a thrilling moment.

I had to Google to get the term "rain gauge" before I wrote the previous line. Don't you hate those moments when the word you are looking for is just out of reach?

I'm wearing a sweater and jeans on the first day of June. I'm pretty sure I was wearing a t-shirt and capris on the first day of May. Gotta love Indiana weather. Though I'm not complaining because the cool weather came with a bit of rain and we (especially the corn and soybean crops & the garden) needed some.

I love Ina Garten. Sometimes I wish she was my friend and her show revolved around her making a meal for me. Today she's making a bacon, potato omelet and I can almost taste it. Yum!

I'm going to Vintage Indiana tomorrow after my cousin's graduation party (actually he's my cousin's son but that makes him my cousin too, right?). Vintage is one of my favorite festivals of the year. What's better than being able to taste wine while listening to music after working a booth where you ask fun questions about farmers and farming to a bunch of slightly tipsy, yet fun-loving, people?

Random Friday Confessions

I confess that I left my purse at home this morning and my ONLY thought was "How am I going to get my Starbucks?"

Thank goodness for my Starbucks App on my iPhone.

I confess that I turned around and went back to Starbucks this morning because I swear they gave me black coffee topped with whipped cream. What is up with that? When I pay THAT much for a cup of fancy coffee (if you can call it coffee with all the extra stuff in it), I want what I ordered. 

I confess that I judged a few people at my church festival tonight...so NOT the place to be judgmental, huh? But, I am sorry...it was just too easy.

I confess that for some reason it takes me DAYS to put away the Jenga game after my nephews come to my house. I swear every other toy is back in the toy closet (yes, I have a toy closet but no children) right after they leave but I leave Jenga in the middle of the floor for days.

Is it a game OR an art piece? 

I confess that I am very excited each Friday when I reach into my mailbox and pull out US Weekly! Gotta love 30 minutes of mindless entertainment. I don't think I have ever read an actual article from start to finish in the magazine but I do love the photos!

Rediscovering Richie

It's Friday!

It's Quattro de Mayo. We celebrated the Cinco a day early! Thinking about celebrating again tomorrow.

It's time for another Confessional Friday! It's been a while since I've participated. So let's get started.

1. Have you listened to Lionel Richie's new album - Tuskegee - featuring duets with country musicians? I really liked it and was super-excited that he included Dancing on the Ceiling and Say You, Say Me. Brought back some memories.

2.  I'm two weeks into trying not to repeat outfits at work. I have SO many clothes in my closet but I tend to rotate the same 6-7 outfits or variations of the same outfits over and over again. I'm kind of enjoying digging through my closet and choosing items I haven't worn in a while. Best thing is, if I don't like how something looks or fits, it goes right into the donate pile.


3.  Found another use for my handy dandy tube squeezer (like this one) other than on the toothpaste tube. It works great to get the last of the moisturizer out of the tube. In the past, I've cut it open at the top but it's messy and annoying.

4.  I've always wanted to go to the Kentucky Derby - not for the race but for the hats and the mint jelups! I am not a hat wearer but I totally would break one out if I got the chance to go to the race and show it off.  Have you ever been to the Derby?

5.  I am super-excited for Frappuccino Happy Hour and was a little disappointed that I missed it today. However, I was drinking a margarita at the time, so my disappointment didn't last long. Totally going to try one of the new Mocha Cookie Crumble variety. Yummy.

Friday Confessions

Sitting here watching House Hunters International (love that by admitting that you have no idea if I'm writing this in the morning, afternoon or night since this show is ALWAYS on), I feel the need to get a few things out in the open...

1.  I may have freaked out just a bit (frantic phone call as soon as I saw the post) when I read that The Pioneer Woman is coming to Indianapolis in March. My friend Cris - over at Goodeness Gracious - checked it out and shared the Goode news with me. I am just glad that my bladder was empty, just sayin!

2.  I went to dinner with my oldest sister and all four of my nephews...dinner out with 4 boys ages 10 and under is the best birth control a girl can have...sorry sis.

3.  I bought these because I saw a girl carrying around a package while in Target earlier today...

Hot Chocolate mini cupcakes! I had to leave half the package with my sister so I wouldn't eat them all at once. They are soooo good.

4.  Yes, I still have my snowman decorations up. It's still winter and I like them. So there.

5.  I just bought the Someecards iPhone App even though I can probably see most of them on Pinterest, like this one...

6. I'm going to Blissdom next week and I am soooo nervous. What should I wear? Will anyone talk to me? It's like summer camp all over again!!!
