That is not what I would guess for a definition. My pet peeve (more than journalists) is people who talk with big words (some them I'm sure are made up) to sound smart. We have a guilty party at my office. I'm sure he's doing it to keep up with all the PhDs we have around there. I mean, who really uses the word "academician"??? Really??? Next time I hear it, I may go into an all-out fit.
